About the Author CinDee Paladino
Growing up in the Midwest in the 50’s and 60’s there weren’t the usual things to entertain kids like there are today. We didn’t have electronic games or electric bikes and scooters; everything was done manually.
If we wanted to go to the moon, or find fairies or see strange creatures, we would read a book. Then we’d find ourselves on some distant planet or in an enchanted garden.
Before I could read for myself, my mother used to read to me. I remember lots of stories to this day. But the ones I remember most are the ones my mother read to me. If there were characters, she would do the voices which always made the story more fun.
Over the years I’ve read all sorts of books from the Dick and Jane we first learned in school, to self-help and spiritual books and even some poetry and psychology books. In the 70’s and 80’s I wrote a lot of poetry, nothing to publish but because I was inspired to write it. Now that I’m in my 70’s, I’m writing children’s books.
If you like to paint or draw or photograph things, (my other hobbies), you know inspiration can come from the most interesting places, as is the case with this book. My inspiration came in the form of 3 stuffed animals I purchased at Christmas last year, which led me to write this story.
